Holistic care through intuitive collaboration

My name is Jessica and I’m a Clinical Mental Health Therapist based in Bothell, WA. My practice is unique in that I focus exclusively on supporting femme-identifying folks to overcome the barriers that keep them from leading fulfilled, joyful lives. I believe that when we heal, we not only transform our own lives but also have a profound impact on our communities and the world around us.

I am deeply passionate about this work because I believe in the incredible power of healing—especially healing of the feminine —and the ripple effects it has on society.

My specialties

ADHD/Neurodivergence

I subscribe to the view of neurodivergence as a diversity of neurotypes.  Meaning; I see ASD, ADHD, and the many others neurodivergent diagnoses, as different neurotypes that need different things to regulate and function in the day to day.

Modern western society has arranged itself around one neurotype; what we now refer to as neurotypical.  All other neurotypes are then considered to diverge from the typical.  This creates an inherently, chronically stressful environment for those who posses a neurodivergent neurotype.  This kind of chronic stress leads to many experiences that greatly decrease our quality of life; cyclical burnout, mental health symptoms, autoimmune disorder, substance misuse, disability, relationship challenges, career and earning limitations.

How we address this; we figure out what your neurotype needs to feel in balance. Then we work together to create innovative, specific methods of meeting those needs in the everyday things our modern society requires we do that drain our vitality.  By utilizing radical acceptance to recognize what your neurotype needs to regulate and recruit motivation, we can create a bridge to meet the real demands of the neurotypical world without sacrificing your well-being.

Trauma Recovery

Trauma; defined as any experience or stimuli that overwhelms a person’s internal resources and exceeds their ability to cope. When we are exposed to this kind of thing, especially on a repeated basis, the mind and body utilize their automatic methods of protection.  This can look like fight/flight/fawn/freeze, or maybe we stayed safe by suppressing a part of our Self that seemed to put us in harms way. Over time, the subconscious experience of being separated from aspects of our Self can cause depression, anxiety and dissatisfaction with life that we can’t quite put our finger on but feel very real in the day to day.

How we address this; we explore those moments in your life that may have overwhelmed your ability to cope and what aspects of your Self you may have had to leave behind to regain your sense of safety.  By recognizing them and inviting them to share their stories, we can heal the hurts of the past and leave behind harmful behavioral patterns.

Life Transition

The nature of life is cyclical.  There is proof everywhere in the natural world.  We are creatures who continuously grow and evolve across our lives, and this is a good thing.  What can be most difficult about growing and evolving is the process of allowing what we’re comfortable with, even what we love, to leave us when it is time.  And yet, if we don’t it becomes nearly impossible to discover what we are meant to experience next, what will fulfill us and better place us where we want to be in life.

How we address this; we utilize a dual-focus approach that facilitates processing the grief innate to major life transitions while also applying creativity and curiosity to what comes next.  By acknowledging and honoring grief as an integral part of major life transitions, we allow for a stronger emotional foundation on which to build what you want for your future.

My approach

Though my primary approach to therapy is person-centered, liberatory, and intersectional, I am skilled at layering additional therapeutic methods that might serve you. From CBT and IFS to yoga and spirituality, I tailor my approach to what best serves you and your goals.

Our partnership

I love being a therapist! I've been in private practice since 2021, and my favorite part is still the collaborative and empowering partnership between myself and my clients. I bring tools, reflections, insights. You bring something far more important; your innate wisdom and lived experience of YOU.
